Being Black in America
There is a song by Michael Jackson called They Don't Really Care About Us.
The song goes All I wanna say is they don't really care about us.
Don't worry about what people say; we know the truth.
Being Black in America right now is like taking us back in time during the civil rights movement and Jim Crow.
The police brutality is at an all-time high, and the crimes, of course, are being done to black and brown.
Homelessness is high, along with thousands of people being without jobs.
I feel like the government is setting us all up to be homeless or dead at this point.
Being Black in America right now is a danger because, as a people, we are stronger than what we have ever endured.
I have heard more nonsense from this adminstration then before the previous administration. We're at war, or should I say involved in a war over oil, to the point where gas is too high to drive.
This is not the country that my grandparents fought for us to vote to have the common things that the white folks in this world already had.
Being Black in America for us is like walking around with targets on our backs, waiting for the bad to happen.
Instead of us complaining that our vote doesn't count.
November, we need to go to the voting booths and make an impact to stop the injustice.
We must stop with the excuses and make a difference in this world by standing together as a people!
We're black, and we're proud.
