Compassion
The deep awareness of another's suffering coupled with the desire and action to alleviate it.
I have said more times than I can count. I only write when it moves me to do so.
This word has come to me in many ways in the past few days.
I was watching some stories of hardship and pondering about what is going on in the world right now.
Wondering how in the name of all that is good, we lost compassion for humanity.
I've been talking to a few of my friends who have been struggling to pay their bills, and they had to do what they needed to do to make a way to both eat and keep their lights on.
There are single fathers out here trying to take care of themselves and their children, and they have to pretty much beg for help because people have forgotten the compassion of others.
I know people who have sacrificed not eating to make sure that their children eat,
The compassion in this world has become lost, trying to live up to the standards of social media and the disguise of being better off than the income we live by.
We need to get back to the true definition of the word in order to truly impress the meaning of it.
Compassion must be felt and then acted upon.
