Consequences
A result, an effect, or an outcome that logically or naturally follows from a preceding action, event. or condition.
I remember as a child that your actions have consequences and never really understood it.
The way the world is going right now makes so much more sense.
I have seen in the last few weeks so many injustices to my black and brown brothers and sisters, and I have to ask where the consequences of these actions are.
I have seen so many stories of sons and brothers not making it home, people being slain in broad daylight, and no consequences for the injustice.
I have been through my share of racism, and for it to show up in 2026 without regard for human compassion or justice for so many families with so many unanswered questions.
Where are the consequences of knowing and understanding the truth? Are we going back to the era of Jim Crow, where things were done to my ancestors, and there were consequences until buildings burned and my people were laid to rest?
Where are the consequences of us seeing injustice caught on video, then we're told it's not what it looks like?
I want to feel safe and not worry about my nieces and nephews ending up in the wrong place at the wrong time, and in the end, there are no consequences for the people who may bring them harm.
I feel like at this point actions need to have consequences and those who cause the actions need to be held accountable for the conzequence in which they caused.
