Jealousy & Envy
There is a song by Tupac Picture Me Rolling, the line from the song is All the jealousy and Envy coming from my enemies.
Let us break down the two words. Jealousy is the fear of losing something you have to someone else, characterized by feelings of suspicion, resentment, and a desire to protect what you possess.
Envy is the longing for someone else's qualities, possessions, or privileges, coupled with a sense of discontent or pain at not having them yourself.
I can honestly say that I have sometimes been jealous of other people's lives who have money, envious of the fact that money makes their lives easier.
Jealousy of the struggle in my life, and how nice it would be to be rich from my writing gifts.
Envy can be seen as an ugly human emotion.
We often use these two emotions as weapons against the very people we think have more than we do.
I feel like sometimes we can be our own worst enemy when these two emotions begin to show their ugly heads.
In a world with so much calamity, we need to keep these two emotions at bay.
Remember, everything that glitters is not gold.
Jealousy is so overrated when it comes to thinking that someone else has it better than you or being envious because you think they are living better than you.
We all in life have to wear a mask to protect ourselves from jealousy and envy, even from those who say they love and care for us.
Keep your spiritual eyes open.
