Living or Existing
Describes the state of being alive, having physical being, or occurring in the real world.
I thought about this phrase when I returned home from Indy a few weeks ago, and this is my take on the subject in general.
We spend most of our lives doing the following: work and home, and maybe, just maybe, in between we try and take a vacation from them both.
We are basically living to exist instead of just plain living.
We exist to work to pay bills and hope we can afford time off to start living for a week or two.
Living is the most important part of life, yet sometimes we are too afraid to just live.
While I was away, I enjoyed just being present, living in the moment.
I have existed for the past two and a half years in my grief over the loss of two people I truly loved, and I would have fought heaven and hell to make sure they were alright.
In the process of that grief, I forgot for a minute how to live.
I'm learning now how to get back to living so they can look down from heaven and say We see you, and we are alright with watching over you while you get back to living.
My advice to anyone going through the living or existing phase of their life is to start living; life is too short to just exist and not enjoy what God has blessed us to do: live!!
