Toxic
The poisonous, very harmful. Or mean.
Describes things that can hurt your body, ruin a relationship, or damage a place or situation.
It amazes me how we allow people to stay in our lives when we know they are toxic to us or our well-being.
We allow them to stay in our lives because they hold the title of family or friend, doesn't mean that they are worthy of the title, and we know they are toxic to us because of the negative impact they have on us.
I had to understand and respect the fact that my boundaries are worth protecting.
Toxic relationships are the same way: being with someone who you know is toxic yet you stay out of fear.
I'm here to let you know it's okay to let go and walk away from those who are toxic to you and who you are.
I allowed family to remain in my life even though I knew they were toxic to me by reliving my past as a child who stayed in trouble to be seen. I knew it was toxic to me and my mental health as an adult, but I felt that because they were family, it was alright.
In the end, it crossed boundaries, and I refuse to let people ignore my boundaries.
It's alright to let go of those who you feel are toxic to you and your peace and sanity.
Never let others bring toxicity into your world, life, or mind.
Be who you know you already are without people's opinions or toxic nature.
